Patterns and Notions Swap

The patterns & notions swap in the Sew Weekly community forum was one of the activities we loved. The anticipation of what’s coming in the mail and the joy of receiving something chosen just for you from a sewing friend is just awesome! We are delighted that Kat from Modern Vintage Cupcakes has agreed to organize it once again just for this reunion! Thank you Kat!

Those of you who stitched along with The Sew Weekly during 2011 and/or 2012 may remember the swaps that we used to do, sending patterns and notions around the world to one another. Sound familiar?

Well, since we’re having a Sew Weekly Reunion, it seems only fitting to have a patterns and notions swap to go with it!

Here’s the plan. Everyone interested can sign up between now and 26 July by commenting below. Then on 27 July you’ll get emailed the name and address of your swap partner. You’ll then have a week to poke around on their blog, figure out what they like, and put together a little parcel of goodies for them, containing one pattern and three notions. We’ll all send our parcels by 2 August, and then wait with baited breath for our own mystery parcel to arrive.

And then we’ll all jump around in joy and excitement, and show photos of what we received. Yay!

As an added bonus, if you want to you should have your parcel in time to include some of its contents in your creation for the Sew Weekly Reunion challenge.

Not sure what we mean by ‘notions’? That’s all the trims and pretty things, like lace, ribbon, bias binding, sets of buttons, ric-racs, and so on.
